The Benasque Valley

This is a valley which contains the highest peaks and the largest number of glaciers in the Pyrenees, along with a fair number of towns, all within its borders.

In this area of the Central Pyrenees there are 119 peaks which are over 3,000 metres high, half of those to be found in the whole range. Some of the more noteworthy peaks are El Aneto, at 3,404 metres, and Posets and Perdiguer. Snowy peaks and lush forests make this a destination and mountainous centre par excellence.

On the border with France via Portillón and Catalonia via the Coll de Toro and the Aran Valley, walking through the Benasque countryside will give you the chance to enjoy the scenery and mansion houses in the area.

We should highlight the towns of Anciles and Cerler (a winter resort with an alpine ski station), Los Llanos de l’Hospital (with a ski station at the end) and the Posets-Maladeta Nature Park, where the largest glaciers of the Pyrenees are to be found.

Welcome! Enjoy this beautiful hidden valley in the Pyrenees!
